In January 2004, the mummy of Rameses I was returned to Luxor, and placed in the new wing of the museum. It lies in a darkened room, and there is definitely a respectful hush from the visitors. In a similar room, lies the mummy of Ahmose, the Pharoah who drove the Hyksos from Egypt. |
