| The West bank is the home of the dead. Here were buried the great pharaohs, their wives and courtiers, hoping to rest in peace for eternity. As far as is known, only one pharaoh managed this - Tutankhamen, and he is the only one to still be in his original tomb, albeit without any of his funerary furniture. And here, they built their Temples of Millions of Years, where priests would daily make offerings to the deified pharaohs for eternity. Or so they thought. | ||||||
